Is a Truer Democracy The Answer For Our Country?

Although, we live in a democracy it is not a true democracy. As our forefathers saw it we create our democracy out of representation. Our form of representaion is in legislative and executive branches of government. With today's technology we can use our vote directly through the internet for important issues for today such as Genetic Research, Abortion, Education etc. and so on, but constructed in a way that allows the commander in chief full access to power as needed for this day in age and congress to represent over mangement of statutory regulations as best management service for states and regional areas. But, how about the majority deciding how to spend much of our money. I don't think that society wants to or can afford pork barreling anymore. Our generation should be the first to be intolerent of such waste when we have so many perilous decisions on our horizon. Let me know what you think?
