Airfare to Punta Cana?

I'm trying to book a trip for Punta Cana from Chicago for November of this year, but all flights are "+1day" over 15-20 hours of traveling. Many of them leaving at 9pm! My question is will airlines come out with more, better flight times over the next couple months or am I screwed with these horrible times!?
