That describes most Civil War battles. It was how it was done back then on both sides because of the limited range of the weapons. You lined up and started marching towards the enemy shooting and reloading as you charged until the enemy either ran or you got close enough to go hand to hand with bayonets or enough of your side got shot to warrant a withdrawal/retreat.
