I am desperate to concieve, have been given clomid and have a ripened follicle 18mm will it release unaided.?

i have been given one course of clomid 100mg as i have pcos one follicle has grown to 18mm but i have not been given any injections to help the release of the egg, has anyone else ovulated without the need for further injections?
