Why do churches still in the 21 century refuse to allow little people to even visit.?

Just last Sunday a Little gentleman and his wife went to visit a church. I wont try to embarr anyone by naming the church. But soon as they crossed the threshold the Congregation fell silent as one of the elders rushed to block the door and quickly usher them out. What kind of religion is this. I think it's disgraceful. They weren't Gay either they were just as straight as all the other Church members.
